Ex-Yankees pitcher Domingo German has found himself a new team.
The right-hander agreed to a $1.25 million minor league deal with the Pirates on Friday, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.
There is also a team option for $2.25 million for 2025 that also has performance bonuses, according to Heyman.
German, 31, acquired by the Yankees in 2014 in the deal that also landed the Yankees Nathan Eovaldi, was a mainstay on the roster through last year, having plenty of highs, recording a perfect game against the A’s last year in a 99-pitch effort and winning 18 games in 2019.
But his success also came with a share of controversy away from the diamond.
In 2020, German, initially placed on administrative leave, was suspended for 81 games — and missed the entire COVID-shortened season — for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy after an alleged incident with his then-girlfriend.
He was also placed on the restricted list this past August for alleged alcohol abuse after the Wall Street Journal reported that he got intoxicated in the clubhouse and had confrontations with members of the Yankees.
The Post’s Mark Sanchez reported in January that German went through and completed the needed steps at an inpatient treatment program, but he was still voluntarily checking in with professionals to ensure he was staying on track.
In November, he elected free agency after he cleared waivers.
Last season, German had a 4.56 ERA and recorded 114 strikeouts in 108 innings across 19 starts.
He held a 4.41 ERA with 543 strikeouts over 522 1/3 innings with the Yankees.
