Giants meeting with Tre’Davious White as they look to fill cornerback void

The Giants need a starting cornerback. Former All-Pro Tre’Davious White needs a new team.

And the key figures all know each other.

White, who was released by the Bills on March 8, will meet with the Giants later this week, ESPN reported.

He visited the Rams on Tuesday and is headed to the Titans, too.

The Giants have a vacancy opposite Deonte Banks, and their three-year union with free agent Adoree’ Jackson seems over.

Nick McCloud, Cor’Dale Flott and Tre Hawkins are the healthy in-house options, but none of the three have ever been a full-time starting cornerback in the NFL.

White, 29, was one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in 2018 and 2019, when Giants general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll were in Buffalo in lesser roles.

Since then, however, he has torn his ACL (2021) and his Achilles (2023), and he missed 30 of the Bills’ past 40 regular-season games.

White was due an $8.35 million salary plus bonuses before he was cut by Buffalo.

Whether he reunites with Schoen and Daboll could depend on his asking price because the Giants only have about $2.5 million in salary-cap space, per NFLPA records.
