A show in NFL Network’s daily lineup abruptly stopped airing this week.
“NFL Total Access,” which normally airs at 7:00 p.m. ET, is dark this week, ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio observed.
Florio cited a “source with knowledge of the network’s current dynamics” as indicating that “it’s just another effort to cut costs at a time when the entire NFL Network/NFL.com operation remains in limbo regarding a potential sale.”
“Total Access” will return to its normal time slot next week.
An NFL Media spokesperson declined to comment to The Post.
Elsewhere at NFL Network, “Good Morning Football” will go on hiatus starting on March 29, NFL Media announced earlier this month.
The program will relocate from New Jersey to Los Angeles, at the Rams’ Hollywood Park facility, and return at an unspecified date during the summer.
There will also be a two-hour extension series of “Good Morning Football,” which will have a different name and be distributed by Sony Pictures Television.
The extension series will not air on NFL Network.
It is unclear at this time whether the full cast of “Good Morning Football” — Jamie Erdahl, Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt and Jason McCourty — will return, as the talents were caught by surprise by the move, according to The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch.
After the announcement of the move, Brandt emphasized that “Good Morning Football” is “not ending.”
The Post previously reported that the NFL had held talks with ESPN about the possibility of the league becoming a strategic investor in ESPN, and the Disney-owned network taking over operational control of NFL Media, which includes NFL Network, NFL.com and NFL Films.
