The sharp bettors are picking this team to win March Madness 2024

The bets are going to pour in as one of the biggest sports betting events of the season kicks off Tuesday night with the first two First Four games of the NCAA Tournament.

Over at BetMGM Sportsbook, the most bet-on team for the First Four of is none other than the Virginia Cavaliers, who face off against the Colorado State Rams on Tuesday.

The Cavaliers have received 79 percent of the moneyline bets, but just because the betting public is on them doesn’t mean the sharps are.

Sharp bettors laid some action on the Rams, with the moneyline moving from +110 to +120 for the Cavaliers and from -135 to -145 on BetMGM.

The sharps are also out on the Colorado Buffaloes in their matchup with the Boise State Broncos in one of Wednesday’s two First Four contests.

The Buffaloes opened as 1.5-point favorites before moving to -2.5 early Monday. BetMGM told The Post that 84 percent of the money was on the Buffaloes to cover against the Broncos.

Their moneyline also moved slightly from -140 to -145, a slight movement, but 65 percent of the money was in on the Buffaloes as of Monday.

For the entire bracket, it’s all about the Kentucky Wildcats.

Sharp bettors at DraftKings Sportsbook are all the way in on the Wildcats to make a deep run, with a whopping 77 percent handle on the Wildcats to make the Final Four, despite only 13 percent of the action.

There is similar excitement for the Wildcats to win it all, with the second-highest handle percentage coming on Kentucky (15 percent), behind only the Houston Cougars (22 percent).

Betting on March Madness 2025?


Kentucky comes in at 25/1 on DraftKings to win it all this year, and 56 percent of the betting handle is on the Wildcats to win the South Region, which is likely a high liability with the Wildcats’ +700 odds.

John Calipari’s group is the darling of the betting public and sharps ahead of 2024 March Madness, but they have a tough road ahead despite being a top offense in the country.
