Angel Reese confirms split from Florida State guard Cam’Ron Fletcher ahead of March Madness

Angel Reese confirmed rumors that she is single as LSU seeks to repeat as champions in the upcoming women’s NCAA Tournament.

Reese broke the news to her followers on an Instagram Live Q&A on Tuesday.

“Yeah, I’m single,” she said, as covered by TMZ.

“I don’t got no man. Don’t attach me to no man. That’s all I’mma say. That’s it.”

Reese had been dating Florida State basketball guard Cam’Ron Fletcher since last June, and the two spent the Christmas holiday together in New York City at the end of last year.

As tends to be the case these days, rumors that the couple split began simmering when their followers noticed that photos of Reese and Fletcher had been scrubbed from each others’ Instagram pages.

In the Instagram Q&A, Reese did not seem like she was in a hurry to jump into another relationship.

“I do what’s best for me, that’s it,” she said. “I’m the catch! Let’s not get it twisted.”

Reese, 21, has averaged 19 points and 13.1 rebounds per game for LSU this season.

Earlier this season, she missed four games in a mysterious absence that was reported as a shadow suspension by head coach Kim Mulkey for the purposes of an “attitude adjustment”.

It is presently unclear whether Reese will enter the WNBA Draft, or return for a fifth season at LSU, which is permitted due to NCAA COVID-19 regulations.

“Should I stay, should I go? I don’t know,” Reese posted cryptically on X last month.

The basketball world awaits a potential rematch of last year’s finals between LSU and Iowa, renewing the rivalry between Reese and Hawkeyes phenom Caitlin Clark, which would occur in the Elite Eight should both teams advance that far.

LSU’s first NCAA Tournament matchup is versus Rice on Friday afternoon.
