Houston college grad missing after routine walk with her beloved dog — who was found wandering alone in storm

”

A former youth tennis star is feared to be in danger after she went missing while taking her beloved dog for a walk in Houston, her family said.

Christina Johnson, 27, was reported missing after she failed to return to her father’s house from a routine walk with her 10-year-old mutt, Max, on March 6, KHOU reports.

The dog was then found on Friday, wandering alone in the middle of a bad storm — about seven and a half miles from Johnson’s house in the Alief area of the city.

Her father, Emmanuel Johnson, now says the fact that Max has been found, but not his daughter is “very alarming,” claiming she “always has Max with her.”

“Something ain’t right,” he told KHOU. “Obviously she’s in danger.”

He said his daughter had recently graduated from Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia, and moved back in with him as she considered her next steps.

Johnson has since established a daily routine in which she would take her laptop and walk with Max to the nearby Jack in the Box or Hackberry Community Center to work.

“She usually comes home before the evening, but didn’t come back that evening,” her father said.

She did not have her cell phone with her when she left that morning and may have been “going through a little depressive state,” he added to Click 2 Houston.

By Friday, a local woman found Max walking on his own in a storm, the local news station reports.

But since he came home, Emmanuel said “he’s not acting normal.”

He described how Max keeps hiding under the table in fear and will now follow him everywhere he goes, even though the dog used to like to roam.

“He’s a house dog, never been on his own like that,” he noted.

The father is now left feeling “real confusion and a sense of loss right now” he told  KHOU.

“I don’t understand where she is,” he said.

The father added that he has spoken to Houston police, whom he said would widen their search efforts for the recent college grad.

“We’re just hoping for the best right now,” the father said, as he pleaded for her safe return.

“Come home,” he said on Click 2 Houston. “Your father and your mother miss you. Your brothers miss you. They’re down here from out of town.

“We all just want to make sure you’re safe,” he said.
