Winless Mets get respite with postponement of Tigers game

The Mets lost to Mother Nature, too.

The Mets, still searching for their first win of the season, tried to wait out a storm that would not relent before Tuesday’s game at Citi Field against the Tigers was postponed.

The game is set to be made up Thursday at 1:10 p.m.

The 0-4 Mets will have to wait until at least Wednesday and potentially Thursday for a chance at their season’s first win.

The storm is expected to continue all day Wednesday. Thursday was scheduled to be a mutual off day before the rain intervened.

The teams are not scheduled to face off again this season, so they would have to find another common off day later in the season if Wednesday is rained out, too.

The pitching matchups have been pushed back a day, with Adrian Houser expected to face Casey Mize on Wednesday and Jose Quintana-Tarik Skubal on Thursday.

Fans holding tickets for Tuesday can use them for Thursday’s game. For fans who entered the ballpark Tuesday, the Mets will provide a voucher for a ticket to another Monday-Thursday 2024 regular-season game at Citi Field (excluding Mets vs. Yankees, June 25-26; as well as Mets vs. Dodgers, May 27-29; additional blackout dates may apply).

Only fans who scanned a ticket and entered the park on Tuesday are eligible for the voucher.
