Rebecca MacBain, 37, makes her living entering contests and has won more than $44,000 in prizes in seven years, South West News Service reported.

The mom-of-two from Preston, Lancashire, England said she first started entering contests when she was on maternity leave in 2016. At the time she won a hamper full of baby products and clothes.

When she returned to her job, she realized she was spending $1,010 on child care and she decided to quit her job to care for her child and enter contests full-time instead.

“I quit my job and started entering more competitions – I’ve won holidays to Poland and Milan, cash prizes, clothes and vouchers,” she said.

She spends two hours a day entering 100 prizes, all while her youngest child naps.

Depending on the prize, she’ll either keep it or sell it to raise money for her family.

“The best prize I’ve won was a trip to the Isle of Man. It was just beautiful, and the company that ran it paid for everything — food, the cabin on the ferry, all the kids’ activities. It was a wonderful few days away,” she recalled.

She said that the trick to winning is to look for contests that don’t have many participants.

Sometimes the prizes are small but they accumulate over time. They vary from cash to gift cards, vacations and tailored suits.

“They’re not life-changing prizes, maybe $63 to $126 here and there, gift cards, clothes for kids and adults, a lot of toys, pet products and stuff for the house,” she explained.

“Without it, we probably wouldn’t be able to afford to go on holidays or on extra days out, so it helps fund that,” she added.

She said she typically finds the contests in the Lucky Learners Facebook group, started by contest enthusiasts like her.

“I also use magazine competitions and forums online,” she said.
