Welcome to the club, Rhys Hoskins: the most notorious villains in recent Mets history

Rhys Hoskins was already something of a Mets villain before last weekend.

Playing for the Phillies in 2019, Hoskins hit a home run and took a 34-second trot around the bases against Jacob Rhame, who had thrown two pitches near Hoskins’ head the day prior.

But Hoskins solidified his status in the opening series of this season. His late slide into second base on Opening Day spiked Jeff McNeil, prompting an agitated McNeil to react and benches to empty.

A day later, Hoskins homered and drove in four runs for the Brewers in their 7-6 victory over the Mets.
