Yankees add Josh Maciejewski in bullpen depth move

The Yankees added another new arm to the bullpen on Monday, signing left-hander Josh Maciejewski to a major league contract and putting him on the roster.

He made his MLB debut with a scoreless ninth.

To make room for Maciejewskion the roster, Jake Cousins was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Lefty Clayton Andrews was designated for assignment to open a spot on the 40-man roster.

The 28-year-old Maciejewski was drafted by the Yankees in the 10th round of the 2018 draft out of UNC Charlotte.

He’s spent his entire career in their system and has not appeared in the majors.

In two games with SWB this season, he threw 4 ²/₃ scoreless innings. He finished last season at SWB.
