Rangers-Islanders always has some drama to it.

There was a bit of added dramatics Tuesday night at UBS Arena when the two New York hockey teams faced off.

The Rangers are fighting to hold on to the top spot in the division and the Eastern Conference. The Islanders are fighting just to secure a playoff spot.

A couple of questionable hits by the Isles had Rangers coach Peter Laviolette fuming in his postgame presser.

That was the big topic of conversation on a new episode of the “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with former Ranger Brian Boyle and Larry Brooks.

Up In The Blue Seats Podcast with Brian Boyle & Larry Brooks

  • PELECH HIT: Was Adam Pelech’s hit on Mika Zibanejad intentional? Accidental? Boyle did not see much that made it look like it wasn’t an accident and maybe a bit of an overreaction.
  • DOBSON HIT: Was the Noah Dobson hit on Vincent Trocheck a missed penalty?
  • RANGERS-ISLES: Less of a rivalry with them cutting games back, but a big win for the Isles. Saturday will be an intriguing rematch to see if anything goes down.
  • PLAYOFF STANDINGS: Still a bunch of teams the Rangers could end up playing in the first round. A huge final week ahead. Who do the Rangers want to avoid?
  • BOYLE’S TRIBUTE: Boyle gives an emotional tribute to his friends and neighbors, the late Tim and Stacy Wakefield.
