What the Giants might do at running back in the 2024 NFL Draft

Slightly more than one year ago — just the 2023 draft — the Giants appeared set at this position, with Saquon Barkey as the starter, Matt Breida as the veteran backup and rookie Eric Gray as the injection of youth.

Times have changed.

Barkley is with the Eagles, Breida is unemployed and Gray is coming off a weak first NFL season.

Tennessee's Jaylen Wright could be a possible target for the Giants on the final day of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Devin “Motor’’ Singletary was signed to start and he is a capable back but certainly does not possess Barkley’s star power.

Gray, Gary Brightwell and Jashaun Corbin return but expect the Giants to add to this room.

This is not considered to be an especially strong year for running backs.

Going for one on Day 3 seems ideal, with Trey Benson (Florida State), Jaylen Wright (Tennessee), Dillon Johnson (Washington) or linebacker-sized Braelon Allen (Wisconsin) possible targets.
