Caitlyn Jenner reacts to death of OJ Simpson, whose trial divided Kardashian family

Caitlyn Jenner had some harsh words for OJ Simpson following his death on Thursday at the age of 76.

“Good riddance #OJSimpson,” she posted to social media.

The former Olympian has been a staunch critic of Simpson over the years and has even claimed that the former Buffalo Bill was responsible for the death of his wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend Ron Goldman — despite being found not guilty of their murders in an infamous 1995 trial.

Jenner had a front-row seat to the so-called “trial of the century,” as she was married at the time to Kris Jenner — who was a good friend to Nicole and whose ex-husband, Robert Kardashian, was a member of Simpson’s all-star defense team.

In her 2017 memoir, “The Secrets of My Life,” Jenner called Simpson “the most narcissistic, egocentric, neediest a– in the world of sports I had ever seen,” according to the Washington Post.

“I believe he got away with two savage murders,” she added.

Brown and Goldman were found stabbed to death outside of Brown’s Brentwood home on June 12, 1994.

Simpson was arrested days later, after leading cops investigating the double homicide in a slow-speed chase through Los Angeles that was broadcast live on television, and captivated Americans throughout the country.

But Simpson was acquitted of the murders after he struggled to wear a blood-stained glove, causing defense attorney Johnnie Cochran to quip “If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”

The verdict drew a mix of outrage, shock, and celebration across the country.

“Obviously he did it, and he got away with it,” Jenner said in a 2021 appearance on the Australian TV show “Big Brother VIP.”

She went on to claim that Simpson “even told Nicole, ‘I’ll kill you and I’ll get away with it, ‘cause I’m OJ Simpson.

“And Nicole relayed that onto Kris at one point, and unfortunately, she was right,” Jenner said on the show.

“We were at the courthouse, we’re watching what’s going on in the other room, and even after the not guilty verdict, the first thing Kris turns around to me and goes, ‘We should have listened to Nicole. She was right from the beginning.’”

Jenner’s stepdaughter, Kim Kardashian, has previously spoken out about how the trial put a strain on the family with her father, Robert, defending OJ Simpson — and her mother sitting with and supporting the Brown family throughout the proceedings.

“Obviously he did it, and he got away with it,” Jenner said in a 2021 appearance on the Australian TV show “Big Brother VIP.” AP

“That was really tough for our family,” Kardashian told GQ last year of the 15 months between arraignment and acquittal. “Kourtney and I were drawn to our dad. We felt like Mom was happily remarried, so we would live with Dad. We didn’t want him to be by himself.”

Simpson was later ordered to pay the families of Brown and Goldman over $33 million in civil proceedings for wrongful death and battery in a civil trial.

In the aftermath, Jenner claimed Robert Kardashian all but admitted he also thought Simpson was guilty of the murders.

He allegedly told her, “I would have been OK if they got him in the first trial,” she said in a 2017 interview with Andy Cohen,  according to the Washington Post.

The former Buffalo Bill was eventually arrested in 2007 in connection with an armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel room.

He spent nine years behind bars on armed robbery and other felony charges, though he insisted he was simply trying to retrieve memorabilia that was rightfully his.

Simpson’s parole ended in 2021, and he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February.

He succumbed to the disease at his home in Las Vegas, his family announced on social media.

The running back is survived by four of his children from his two marriages – including the two youngest, Sydney and Justin, whom he shared with Brown.

One of Simpson’s sons from his first marriage drowned in 1979.
