Girlfriend of 14-year-old killed protecting her from two masked teens breaks down at vigil: ‘We had so many plans’

The devastated girlfriend of the Wyoming teenager who was stabbed to death while protecting her from bloodthirsty attackers broke down in tears at a memorial service.

Bobby Maher, 14, was fatally knifed after he confronted the two masked 15-year-old boys for allegedly harassing his middle school sweetheart at the Eastridge Mall in Casper on Sunday.

At a vigil on Friday, the grieving girlfriend described Maher through sobs as “the bravest boy” and the “best boyfriend.”

“Me and Bobby, we had so many plans for the future,” she said, according to The Daily Mail.

Maher had gone to the mall after his girlfriend called and said that the two alleged assailants, Dominique Harris and Jarreth Plunkett, were following her and a friend there, according to an affidavit.

Maher was attacked and killed by the two when he asked them to leave.

“I’m sorry for everyone that had to witness that,” his girlfriend said at the vigil.

“I want to give a shout out to his family, because I know he loved them so much,” she added.

“I never thought I’d be saying all this so early,” she said.

Maher had been in a weeks-long feud with the pair before Sunday’s fatal attack.

During spring break in Evansville, Maher had apparently called the two “freaks” after they went to a port-a-potty together at a park, the document stated.

Harris told detectives Plunkett also asked Maher’s friend if he wanted to fight them to “pay” the teen’s “blood debt” after the port-a-potty episode, according to police.

Harris and Plunkett allegedly stole kitchen knives at a Target in the mall on Sunday with the intention of fighting Maher, cops said.

Maher tried to get his girlfriend away from the mall and told the two suspects to leave before the vicious attack, which was caught on security camera.

He “clearly did not want to fight because he was observed moving away from the knife-wielding Plunkett,” the affidavit said.

“Maher also put his hands up, indicating that his hands were empty,” police wrote.

Video shows Harris slamming Maher to the ground and beating him in the face when seconds later Plunkett steps in and allegedly fatally stabbed him with the knife while he was down.

The 15-year-olds fled and dumped the bloodied knife and their masks in the parking lot, cops said.

Plunkett and Harris were charged as adults with conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated assault, battery, and theft.

Plunkett also is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing Maher.
