7-year-old Arab girl is only known casualty of Iran attack

The only known casualty in Iran’s drone and missile attack against Israel early Sunday is a 7-year-old Arab girl who was left with a serious head injuries.

The Bedouin girl was injured when shrapnel from an intercepted ballistic missile fell on her family’s home in a town near Arad in the Negev Desert, according to The Times of Israel.

The area is not far from Israel’s Nevatim Airbase, which was reportedly struck by multiple missiles.

She had underwent surgery for a major head wound at Soroka Medical Center, the report said.

Iran fired some 170 drones, more than 30 cruise missiles and more than 120 ballistic missiles at Israel, but 99% of them had been shot down by Israel, according to a military spokesperson.

Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said the outcome was a “very significant strategic success” and President Biden said the US helped its ally down “nearly all” of the airstrikes.
