What do Rangers-Capitals playoffs tickets at MSG cost?

The New York Rangers just pulled off hockey’s most impressive hat trick.

In the 2023-24 regular season, the team had the best record in (1) the Metropolitan Division, (2) Eastern Conference and (3) the entire NHL.

As a result, Peter Laviolette’s squad was awarded the highly-coveted President’s Trophy.

They’re not stopping there, though.

Starting Sunday, April 21, Igor Shesterkin, Mika Zibanejad, Adam Fox and the Rangers will face off against Alex Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, and Tom Wilson’s Washington Capitals in a cutthroat best-of-seven first-round Stanley Cup playoff series.

“We know why we’re here,” Shesterkin said after the team’s final game of the regular season. “Get rest and be ready for first game.”

And if you want to be right there with the Rangers — and Dancing Larry, of course — on their Madison Square Garden home ice, now is the time to pick up playoff tickets.

Based on our findings at the time of publication, the lowest price we could find was $228 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Other games have tickets starting anywhere from $256 to $365 before fees.

A road trip to an away game at D.C.’s Capital One Arena might be your best bet price-wise; seats start at $95 before fees there.

Rangers-Capitals 2023-24 regular season record

Over the course of the regular season, the Rangers and Caps split their four-game series, 2-2.

In their first matchup, Washington shut out New York 4-0 at the Capital One Arena on Dec. 9, 2023 behind goals from Tom Wilson, Sonny Milano, Anthony Mantha, and Nicolas Aube-Kubel.

After that, the Rangers answered back with a commanding 5-1 victory on Dec. 27. K’andre Miller led the Blueshirts with a pair of goals that evening.

On Jan. 13-14, the Rangers and Caps played against each other on back-to-back nights; the Capitals won 3-2 in the first matchup and the Rangers wrapped their season series with a 2-1 win.

This postseason matchup will be the tenth time the rivals have met in the playoffs over the course of their franchise histories.

Most recently, they squared up in the second round of the 2015 postseason; when all was said and done the Rangers won in seven games.

It should also be noted that the Rangers hired Laviolette ahead of this season; prior to this gig, he was the Capitals coach from 2020-23.

The overlap doesn’t end there.

“Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren’s brother, Charlie, is the Capitals’ starting goalie,” the New York Post reported.
