Marlins-Cubs pick
After a successful West Coast road trip, the Chicago Cubs return home to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field for a series against the Miami Marlins.
The Cubs are favored by 1.5 runs tonight on Fanatics Sportsbook. That spread feels about right given how bad the Marlins have opened the season.
Only the dreadful Chicago White Sox have a worse record than the 4-15 Marlins. They lost their first nine games of the season and they are also third-worst in both runs allowed (105) and run differential (-35). It has just been an awful start of the season for Miami.
The Marlins will send out A.J. Puk tonight. Puk enters with an 0-3 record and a 5.91 ERA, and failed to reach the fifth inning in each of his last two starts. Chicago is starting Jameson Taillon for the first time this season. The veteran right-hander recorded a 4.84 ERA last year with the Cubs.
