Cavaliers-Magic pick
The Magic return to Orlando fighting for their playoff lives as they trail the Cleveland Cavaliers 0-2 in their best-of-seven first-round series.
Fanatics Sportsbook is favoring Orlando by 2.5 points tonight. After what we saw in the first two games of this series, I just can’t trust the Magic to cover against a Cavaliers team that seems to have their number.
Orlando has yet to reach 90 points in this series. That is both woeful offensive ineptitude from the Magic and great defense from Cleveland, and sure, they’ll probably surpass 90 points in front of their home crowd tonight, but it still probably won’t be enough.
The Cavaliers playoff experience has been a big difference in this series. Aside from Paolo Banchero, most Orlando players don’t seem ready for the moment, whereas Cleveland has gotten great performances from Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley. Add in a better bench, and it’s easy to see why the Cavaliers have dominated this series so far.
