Boeing 737 makes emergency landing after ‘irregularity’ with wing: report

A Boeing 737 was forced to make an emergency landing just minutes after taking off Friday morning after issues with one of the plane’s wings — the latest blunder by the safety-scarred aerospace giant.

The United Airlines flight — which was carrying 50 passengers — had just left Fukuoka Airport in Southern Japan at about 11:45 a.m. when the wing irregularities surfaced, according to The Sun.

The plane swiftly turned around and headed back, the outlet said.

No one was injured, but police are investigating to decipher what went wrong.

The runway also stayed closed for a bit while crews ran routine safety checks after it landed, The Sun reported.

The hair-raising scrape was the latest in a series of high-profile near-disasters to strike Boeing, whose planes have been under a microscope since a door of an Alaska Airlines flight flew off mid-flight in January.

And it doesn’t seem to be getting better, with four Boeing planes reporting issues in the last three days alone.

A 737 caught on fire and skidded off a runway in Senegal early Thursday, forcing terrified passengers to jump to the ground at Dakar airport.

The passengers were evacuated, but 15 were injured – four critically.

That same day, almost 200 people were evacuated after a tire burst during a Corendon Airlines flight’s landing in Alanya, Turkey, The Independent reported.

A day earlier, a Boeing 763 cargo plane owned by FedEx crash-landed on its nose after a flight from Paris to Istanbul.

A shower of sparks was seen as the mammoth aircraft slammed into the concrete.

Meanwhile, several other dramatic incidents involving Boeing planes have been reported over the last five months.

Video captured a Lufthansa Airlines plane bouncing along a Los Angeles runway before the pilot pulled up and aborted the rough landing last month, KABC reported.
