Injured wife of man who died on Singapore Airlines horror flight has been informed of his death as she recovers in hospital: report

The severely injured wife of the man killed when a Singapore Airlines flight plummeted 6,000 feet in an air pocket Tuesday has been informed of her husband’s death, according to a report.

Linda Kitchen was told Wednesday morning that 73-year old Geoffrey tragically died, Linda is reportedly delirious in a Bangkok hospital recovering from her own injuries, according to the Daily Mail.

“The tragic news was broken to her this morning. They were such a devoted couple, you can’t imagine what it must be like for her,” an unnamed family friend reportedly told the outlet.

“She was woozy with painkillers and she’s going for a second scan,” the pal added.

“She has spinal and shoulder injuries. I think she was unconscious when they got her off the plane.”

Linda and Geoff, both grandparents, had left their home in Gloucestershire in the UK on Monday to embark on a dream vacation across Asia and Australia.

But their happy life together was cut short as the plane plummeted and Geoff apparently suffered a fatal heart attack — possibly brought on by a history of heart conditions he suffered from.

It remains unclear whether Geoff died onboard the plane or later after being brought to the hospital when the plane made an emergency landing in Thailand.

The plane was ten hours into the flight from London to Singapore and cruising at around 37,000 miles off the coast of Myanmar when it ran into severe turbulence from thunderstorms on the Indian Ocean.

It then plunged through the sky, dropping from 37,000 to 31,000 — the length of about four Empire State Buildings stacked on end — in just five minutes.

Passengers reported seeing people hurled up into the cabin roof or tossed into the air and doing summersaults as the plane fell.

An emergency landing was quickly organized, and the injured were carried off on stretchers.

Several passengers — Linda Kitchen among them — were left severely injured, while 23 passengers and nine crew members suffered moderate injuries.

There were 211 passengers and 18 crew in total aboard the flight.
