Greg Olsen wants top analyst gig ‘wherever that opportunity allows’ with Tom Brady taking old job

Greg Olsen isn’t going down without a fight.

The ex-NFL tight end has spent the last two years as an analyst on Fox’s No. 1 NFL broadcast team but is now being replaced by Tom Brady in the top booth.

Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox in 2022 and is set to be the network’s new lead analyst alongside play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt.

The move does demote Olsen from the top job to the No. 2 broadcast team with Joe Davis.

To put salt in the wound, Olsen was honored by the Sports Emmys on Tuesday night with a win in the Outstanding Personality — Event Analyst category.

But Olsen, speaking on Thursday with Front Office Sports, said he wants another top analyst gig, even if that means finding a new job.

“My aspirations are still to be a No. 1 analyst, whether it’s at Fox or elsewhere,” Olsen said. “That will never change as long as I do this. I’m not just content to be there. I’m not just happy to have a seat. I want the top seat, and I want that wherever that opportunity allows, and I’ll never stop working for that.

“I feel more motivated for that now than ever.”

Olsen first joined Fox as a guest analyst during his playing days, filling in on bye weeks.

He became a full-time voice for the network in 2021 after his retirement from the NFL.

Brady will be in his first season in the broadcast booth after hanging up the cleats following the 2022 season.
