It seems Patrick Mahomes channeled Cupid last offseason.
During an appearance Thursday on “The Pat McAfee Show,” the star Chiefs quarterback, 28, said he’d “like to take some credit” in setting up teammate Travis Kelce with pop superstar Taylor Swift.
“I like to take some of the credit because I was the one who invited Travis to his first Taylor concert,” Mahomes said.
“He was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker. I had some input in there as well, I was like, dude, just go for it, just go for it and you know Travis man, he does it. He’s a great dude and I’m glad it’s all worked out for the best.”
Kelce took in Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium last summer, revealing on a July 2023 installment of his “New Heights” podcast how he made a friendship bracelet for the singer with his phone number but couldn’t pass it along.
Two months later, rumors swirled that Kelce and Swift, 34, were seeing each other, with the 14-time Grammy winner attending her first Chiefs game in Kansas City in September.
Swift attended 13 games last season, including the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 2024 win over the 49ers in Las Vegas in February.
She has also become friendly with Mahomes’ wife Brittany.
Kelce has supported Swift on the road this offseason as she continues the international leg of the Eras Tour in Europe.
As for the Chiefs, who began OTAs this week, they’re set to open the 2024 NFL season against the Ravens on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Kansas City topped Baltimore in the AFC Championship game in January, 17-10. en route to a Super Bowl berth.
