‘Up In The Blue Seats’ Podcast Episode 159: Panthers Tie Series as Rangers Return Home for Game 5

The Rangers are preparing for Game 5.

We got ourselves a series.

The Rangers were looking to make it a 3-1 series in Florida on Tuesday, but this time, for the first time in the playoffs, they could not win in overtime.

The Panthers prevailed in OT to even the series at 2 wins apiece as the Blueshirts will return home Thursday for a crucial Game 5.

It’s hard to argue that the Panthers have probably outplayed the Rangers for the better part of this series, but the Blueshirts still have home ice and are two wins away from the Stanley Cup Final.

To react to the Game 4 loss and look ahead to the rest of the series, we bring you a new episode of the “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with Brian Boyle and Mollie Walker.

“Up In The Blue Seats” Podcast with Brian Boyle and Mollie Walker:

  • DEFENSE: Rangers need to change what they are doing in the defensive zone. This is not working. Man-on-man is not the way to go if they want to have success.
  • SERIES TIED 2-2: Panthers have arguably outplayed the Rangers this entire series. Rangers are lucky the series is tied.
  • CHANGES: Panarin needs to score a goal. Mika needs a point. The stars need to play like stars if the Rangers are going to win the series.
  • IGOR: Rangers need to get more physical around the net and get the Panthers to get called for a goalie interference. He’s been remarkable in this series.
