All good things come to an end.

For the Rangers, it’s another season falling short of making the Stanley Cup Final.

The Panthers were just too much for the Blueshirts to handle, falling 4 in six games.

This Rangers core is in place, but there will be some essential changes for general manager Chris Drury to make this summer to try to get this team over the hump.

Who stays? Who goes? Who do they bring in?

Brian Boyle, Mollie Walker and Larry Brooks recap the season and preview a crucial offseason ahead on the season finale of the “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast.

Many thanks to Brian Boyle for joining the podcast crew this year. Boyle brought tremendous insight and stories from his Ranger playing days. He was a joy to do the podcast with every week and a perfect addition. Thanks to all those who listened and watched the show this year.

“Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with Brian Boyle, Mollie Walker & Larry Brooks

  • BREAKUP DAY: Reacting to what Rangers players said Tuesday at breakout day. Was the season a disappointment? The Panthers were more physical.
  • WHAT NEEDS TO CHANGE: Rangers need to bulk up and get bigger up front. The core is strong, but they need more.
  • OFFSEASON PREVIEW: Expect there to be a major move over the summer. Don’t see them running it back.
  • INJURIES: Going through the injuries the Rangers were dealing with during the playoff run.
  • FREE AGENTS: They need to get an Igor Shesterkin contract extension done this summer. Think they will take care of Ryan Lindgren. Think it’s in Kaapo Kakko’s best interest to move on somewhere else. Hard for the Rangers to give him away. You have to sign Braden Schneider. Rangers need to get a 6’4, 6’5 banger.
