Anthony Kim, Brandel Chamblee trade ugly barbs as golf feud explodes

The feud between Anthony Kim and Brandel Chamblee has officially exploded.

The LIV Golf star, who returned to pro golf this year after 12 years away from the sport, and the Golf Channel analyst have traded barbs for the second time in a month, with the animosity between the two appearing to grow.

Kim, 38, said during a recent episode of the “Country Club Adjacent” podcast that people like Chamblee “are what’s wrong with golf,” and that he “talks about stuff he knows nothing about.”

He brought up a Golf Channel segment in which Kim said Chamblee was talking long about what the Ryder Cup is like while sitting next to David Duval, who played in two Ryder Cups for the U.S.

“How the f–k would you know? Here’s David Duval, who was No. 1 in the world and played on multiple Ryder Cup teams, has all these sorts of records, won a million times — you’re over-talking him about what it’s like and what they’re feeling?” Kim said of Chamblee. “If we were talking about, like, what it’s like to drive to a Korn Ferry event and miss the cut, we would call you, Brandel. But we don’t do that.”

The 61-year-old Chamblee, who had one PGA Tour win in his career, fired back in an X post early Sunday morning, hitting out at Kim for joining the Saudi-backed LIV Golf.

“Less his banal drivel gets distorted into relevancy and just for context, I played the tour for about a decade longer than @AnthonyKim_Golf and had more top tens than he did in his career,” Chamblee wrote. “And while I understand his failures and sympathize with them, his absurd computations seem oblivious to the fact that he was willing to trade his talent for the convenience of insurance payments and then willing to betray those payments for the convenience of a dictatorial murderer who would pay him to help hide his atrocities. I wish Anthony well, but let’s not pretend he knows north from south or disability payments from obfuscation payments or, for that matter, that he has ever heard of Jamal Khashoggi.”

Kim previously took aim at Chamblee on X on May 10 after Chamblee, who has criticized LIV golfers for taking Saudi money, spoke in favor of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf making a deal to work together.

“Ramble Chamblee @chambleebrandel ur such a p—y 4 beating on ur chest & basically saying never retreat & hypocritically retreat,” Kim wrote. “It is well known this talentless fool is disliked by most people in the golf world. U still gonna cover golf if @livgolf_league is involved?🤡 😂.”

As part of a lengthy response, Chamblee said Kim’s tweet was “about as inaccurate as a lot of [Phil] Mickelson’s drives and sadly ironical coming two tweets after you asked for advice on raising your daughter that you would refer to someone as a female body part in a juvenile attempt to denigrate them.”

Kim, who was once ranked as high as No. 6 in the world, walked away from the PGA Tour in 2012 and joined LIV Golf in March.
