Adrienne Adams panders to City Council’s Israel-haters with Gaza cease-fire bill

Gotham is home to more Jews than any other city in the world — and most Jews (and Americans!) want Israel to survive and Hamas defeated.

So why on Earth is the City Council even considering a resolution calling for a cease-fire in Gaza that could help the terror group survive.

The kindest answer: Speaker Adrienne Adams is letting far-left Israel-haters dictate the council’s agenda — at the expense of its saner members.

Or perhaps she’s one of the Israel-haters herself?

After all, she’s pushing the bill and is expected to sign on as a sponsor.

Yet, remember: Israel isn’t just the Jewish homeland, a place Jewish Americans largely support and where many of their friends and family live.

It’s also a key US ally, the only true democracy in the Middle East and a first line of defense for the West against Iran and blood-thirsty Islamist imperialism.

Hamas snatched 14 Americans on Oct. 7, including six from the New York area. Do Speaker Adams & Co. want these monsters to rebuild and launch more attacks?

It would be far more apt to demand Israel finish the job against Hamas (and President Biden support it) than call for a cease-fire.

And though a council resolution won’t improve New Yorkers’ lives one bit, Hamas will read it as a sign of support, and reason to think the world will force Israel to end its anti-terror war prematurely.

This after Adams blocked resolutions condemning Hamas after Oct. 7.

The one upside to a cease-fire vote: It’ll force lawmakers to show whose side they’re really on, though Post sources say roughly 20 of them are “really unhappy” about that.

Good. Let New Yorkers know whether if they truly support Israel — or the terrorists.

Will the council’s progressive foreign-policy geniuses next offer plans to address aggression by China, Russia, North Korea and Iran? We wonder how many enemies of civilization they’ll choose to embrace.
