Inside Bryson DeChambeau’s wild Pinehurst celebrations after US Open win

It was poppin’ bottles and good vibes for U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau.

“I’m a little wrecked, I can tell you that,” DeChambeau said on “The Pat McAfee Show” Monday. “It was a lot of fun last night, and the fans were all part of that win. Throughout the whole week, they were cheering me on, pushing me, encouraging me, and giving me all of the stuff I needed to win, so I thought, what better moment than to show the fans all that they deserve?”

DeChambeau had a long night celebrating with fans as he greeted seemingly all those who stuck around after he nipped Rory McIlroy by one stroke on Sunday.

“It just all happened. Fans were still waiting for me. They shut down the golf course, “DeChambeau said. “I probably left Pinehurst around 12:30 last night, and it was a great time.”

McAfee explained that he hadn’t seen another golfer take the trophy around to the fans who were celebrating his victory.

“Then we drank some stuff out of here,” DeChambeau said, pointing to the United States Open Championship trophy detailing his victory celebration. “I actually did wine; I’m a big wine guy. It was beautiful everyone drank out of it… It was a lot of fun. We celebrated accordingly and got some champagne out of it.”

DeChambeau detailed signing more autographs throughout his night as he went back to his hotel as well.

The two-time U.S. Open champion explained he is doing a media tour on Monday from New York City before hitting Nashville shortly after on Tuesday.

During the appearance, DeChambeau explained that his shot on 12 to get within inches of the flagstick was one of the best of his career.

“I had to hit that shot because Rory was up two at that point,” DeChambeau said. “That thing was going right at the flag, and when I heard the crowd roar, I knew I was in a good spot.”

“Mcllroy is one of the best players in the world, and he’s usually not someone who will give it up… He missed a couple coming in and I just stayed the course coming in and I was just steady eddy in the last three.”

Mcllroy missed a brutal putt three feet from the hole on the final hole to choke away at least a playoff.

Mcllroy is major-less since 2014 after the heartbreaking loss.
