There’s two ways to look at the Mets’ recent surge.
There is Red from “The Shawshank Redemption,” who would caution fans to protect themselves from inevitable letdown.
“Hope is a dangerous thing,” Red tells Andy Dufresne in the movie. “Hope can drive a man insane.”
Then there’s Dufresne’s outlook, which would encourage fans to believe in unlikely fortune.
