The Jesus and Mary Chain just announced they’re striking out on a 27-concert, North American co-headlining tour with The Psychedelic Furs and special guest Frankie Rose this fall.
Early on in the run, the ’80s alt icons will make three New York stops.
First up, they’re slated to bring their unique brands of pop to New York City’s Beacon Theatre on Friday, Oct. 4. After that, the pair swing into Brooklyn’s Paramount Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 5 and Rochester’s Kodak Center on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
This nationwide run of shows comes on the heels of creative renaissances for The Jesus and Mary Chain; on March 22, they released their eighth studio album “Glasgow Eyes” and received glowing reviews across the board.
“Still riding a wave of gorgeous fuzz,” The Guardian raved. Elsewhere, Record Collector gushed that the record is “a staggering achievement.”
If you want to see the sublime rockers fuzz out live, tickets are available for all upcoming North American concerts as soon as today.

The Jesus and Mary Chain new music
On March 22, TJaMC dropped their eighth studio album “Glasgow Eyes.”
Comprised of 12 songs, the record is a return to form for the fuzzed-out noise rockers. It’s all crunchy guitars, angsty vocals, and washed-out sound over deceptively simple melodies.
Standout tracks include the endlessly catchy “American Born,” neo-futurist “Mediterranean X Film” (which sounds like a collaboration with Kraftwerk), and sludgy shoegaze confection “Pure Poor.”
Still, it’s the record’s sunniest track that we loved most. Check out the fun-loving “The Eagles and the Beatles” if you want to hear The Jesus and Mary Chain’s most crowd-pleasing track yet.
Make sure to stick around for the stirring finale “Hey Lou Reid,” too. It’s a perfect ode to the Velvet Underground frontman.

Frankie Rose
On top of the co-headliners, fans will also be treated to opening act Frankie Rose.
The dreamy female singer-songwriter got her start playing with The Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls, Vivian Girls, and Beverly. These days, she performs as a solo artist.
As an introduction to her sound, we recommend starting with the ethereal “Pair Of Wings,” moody, poppy “Know Me” and propulsive sing-a-long “Night Swim” that you’ll want to play back all day.
