Argentina vs. Canada in Copa America 2024: How to watch Messi for free

The 2024 edition of the Copa America tournament kicks off tonight, June 20, with a match featuring one of the best soccer players in the world.

Lionel Messi and the Argentinean squad will take on Team Canada to open the quadrennial tournament. Messi, the team’s captain and all-time leading goal scorer, may be playing in his last Copa America as the next one will be in 2028.

Messi, who will turn 37 during the Copa America, isn’t thinking about the future, though; right now, he’s focused on this year’s tournament. He told Argentinean outlet Infobae, “As long as I feel I am well and that I am able to help, I will do it.”

“Today, all I think about is to get well to the Copa América and play it. Fight for it again, as we always do, try to be the champions,” he added.

The Argentinean National Team is the reigning World Cup and Copa America champ, so they enter the tournament as the favorite to reach the final, if not win the entire thing again.
