Alleged accomplice busted alongside Remy Ma’s son in slaying already jailed on 2 other murder charges: prosecutors

The man busted this week alongside rapper Remy Ma’s son in connection to a deadly 2021 Queens shooting was already locked up in connection to two other murders from that same year, prosecutors said.

Richard Swygert, 22, was behind bars on Rikers Island when he was charged with first-degree murder Tuesday night alongside Jayson Scott, 23 – the son of the 44-year-old Grammy nominated Remy Ma – over the June 7, 2021 broad-daylight fatal shooting of Darius Guillebeaux, authorities said.

The new charges leave Swygert accused of three murders within an eight-month period.

Swygert was previously nabbed in connection with the Jan. 1, 2021 slaying of 20-year-old Robert Williams outside the Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens – the first homicide of that year, prosecutors said.

During the shooting — which police said erupted amid a fight between two groups of men — another 20-year-old man was shot and wounded in the left leg, while a 40-year-old man was critically injured.

Swygert – who was busted for that crime in October 2021 – was also charged with two counts of second-degree attempted murder, assault in the first and second degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, prosecutors said.

At the time of that arrest, Swygert was already being held on a second-degree murder charge in connection to the early Aug. 13 slaying of 22-year-old Dominick Malivert — who was shot multiple times at the K-Show Bar on 138th Street in Flushing, according to a criminal complaint and police.

A 22-year-old woman was also shot in her right hand during the incident at the karaoke bar but was expected to survive, authorities said.

When Swygert was arrested on Aug. 19, he provided an incorrect name and date of birth, according to a criminal complaint.

He is also charged in that case with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and false personation.

A judge ordered him held without bail in connection to both cases, according to prosecutors.

Online records with the city’s Department of Correction indicate he was being held at the George R. Vierno Center on Rikers Island.

He is set to reappear in court for both slayings on July 8.

Both Swygert and Scott – who were also slapped with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment charges in connection to the June murder – are expected to face a judge next week in that case, cops said.

In that homicide, Guillebeaux, 43, was blasted in the head and chest at the intersection of 148th Street and Rockaway Boulevard in Springfield Gardens just before 1 p.m., cops said.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Scott or Swygert had any prior connection to Guillebeaux – who just eight months before the slaying was among the dozens indicted by New York Attorney General Letitia James as part of a large-scale drug trafficking probe dubbed “Operation Heat Wave.”

Scott has been in custody since May 9 in a separate gun case. He’s been held on $500,000 bail on criminal possession of a weapon charges, officials said.

Scott’s mom, whose real name is Reminisce Smith, got her start with Fat Joe’s group, Terror Squad, back in the 90s.

“We stand by JaySon’s innocence and pray that the NYPD will conduct a complete and thorough investigation to reveal the truth,” the rapper said in a statement issued to TMZ through the law office of Dawn Florio, which is representing her son. “This is undoubtedly a difficult time for my family and me. While we sincerely appreciate the love and support we have received from all of you, we kindly ask for privacy as our legal team works to prove JaySon’s innocence.

“As his mother, I want to address this situation personally but have been strongly advised by his legal counsel not to say anything — as most people in similar situations are informed by their attorneys due to it being an active case.”
