Justin Timberlake’s stiff drink at Hamptons hotel bar before DWI bust revealed: ‘It’s all alcohol’

Justin Timberlake downed a stiff $21 cocktail made famous by fictitious British spy James Bond before his arrest for allegedly drunk driving in the Hamptons earlier this week, according to reports.

The 43-year-old “Cry Me a River” singer ordered a Vesper Martini from the menu of the American Hotel in the Sag Harbor on Tuesday, sources told the Daily Beast, who described the recipe as “all alcohol.”

“There is no mixer,” the source said.

The Vesper Martini contains Grey Goose vodka, Tanqueray gin, the wine aperitif Lillet Blanc and a thick twist of lemon rind.

Cocktail blogger Moody Mixologist notes the cocktail is “not for the faint of heart” as the recipe usually calls for a “whopping 4 ounces of liquor.”

“It’s safe to say that the level of alcohol in this martini is equivalent to a double of just about any other cocktail,” Moody Mixologist wrote.

Timberlake told cops he’d had just “one martini” after police pulled him over for allegedly blowing a stop sign, but he refused to take a breathalyzer and reportedly failed a field sobriety test.

His drink of choice for the night gained popularity when it appeared in author Ian Fleming’s 1953 debut novel Casino Royale, according to The Rake, when the British spy called back a waiter after asking for a standard dry martini and tweaked his order.

“Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it’s ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?” Bond said in the novel.

Later in the story Bond would name the drink after Vesper Lynd, a beautiful and brilliant fellow operative he falls in love with but who is forced to betray him and ultimately takes her own life for it.

The drink grew in popularity after the novel was released, but after the 2006 adaptation starring Daniel Craig as Bond and Eva Green as Vesper it became a staple on cocktail menus across the country.

Timberlake was allegedly “wasted” at the American Hotel before his bust, with one source previously telling The Post he was grabbing and downing other peoples’ drinks off their table.

After being busted by cops – who didn’t recognize him – Timberlake reportedly said “This is going to ruin the tour” under his breath before being cuffed.

He is in the midst of a world tour and is due to perform at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan at the end of June.

Timberlake has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence, and could face up to a year in Suffolk County jail if convicted.

Experts have speculated it is unlikely Timberlake would be put behind bars, predicting that he would face a fine and license suspension instead.
