Dave Portnoy details wild day at Celtics NBA Finals victory parade

Barstool Founder Dave Portnoy looks to have had one of the best days of his life while taking part in the Boston Celtics championship victory parade on Friday.

“I honestly wish my worst enemies have a day like today. Everybody deserves to live,” Portnoy posted on X.

The Celtics successfully closed out the Mavericks in five games on Monday as they earned the franchise’s 18th championship with a dominant postseason run.

Portnoy led a sea of Celtics fans to chant “F–k Kyrie (Irving)” while sitting outside in a quintessential Boston duck boat with the moment caught on NBC 10 Boston live on TV.

The Barstool founder and media mogul also pointed to the famous “sign kid” in Boston.

He is now much older but still making signs, this time updated saying, “22 years old, 13 parades,” showing off not only his dedication but also the massive amounts of professional sports success that Boston has enjoyed in the 21st century.

You may remember the sign kid as a toddler proudly showing off how many parades he’s been to in his brief life.

A multitude of Celtics stars, past and present, were seen with Portnoy throughout the day’s festivities, including Paul Pierce and Jayson Tatum.

Coach Joe Mazzulla and Portnoy also posed for a picture while holding the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

The Barstool founder revealed this week that he had defeated cancer in a shocking announcement after many questioned why he had a bandage on the left side of his neck.

“I have cancer, by the way. No big deal,” Portnoy said, later noting it was skin cancer.

“I did have cancer. I beat it. It wasn’t the serious kind thank god.”

Portnoy has been a Celtics fan for seemingly his whole life, having grown up in Boston and starting a newspaper “Barstool Sports.”

He also wagered on the Celtics to win the NBA Finals in a parlay with Scottie Scheffler to win The Masters.

Portnoy won $1.6 million on the parlay in a wild heater that has consisted of over $7 million in profit.
