Man stabbed to death in NYC subway station during evening rush: NYPD

A man was fatally stabbed in a Manhattan subway station during the evening rush hour Friday, police said.

The 40-year-old victim was attacked at the turnstiles of the 175th Street and Fort Washington Avenue station in Washington Heights just before 6 p.m., the NYPD said.

He sustained several stab wounds to the torso.

The victim was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

“It’s crazy. That’s just crazy. It’s getting real bad out here,” said Isaac Santiago, from Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

“Every time I visit, it’s always something. It’s got to stop,” said the 22-year-old, who opted for an Uber as A trains were bypassing the station Friday night.

Hospital worker Ayan Malakar’s evening commute from Fort Lee, New Jersey to downtown Manhattan was also disrupted.

“I’ve never heard of someone getting stabbed over here,” said Malakar, 38.

“It’s shocking — here all of a sudden someone being stabbed. That’s definitely scary — something to be worried about.”
