‘Everyone’s favorite’ McDonald’s sandwich is back — but not for long

Golden Arches fans rejoice — McDonald’s is bringing back a limited edition sandwich that’s been dubbed “everyone’s favorite.”

After debuting in 2022 for a limited time, the chain’s Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese and Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder will be returning to menus nationwide starting on July 10.

Per the press release, the nosh-talgic sandwich features the classic fresh-beef quarter pounder patty (or two if customers order a double), two slices of American cheese, three half-strips of Applewood Smoked bacon, tomatoes and lettuce on a sesame seed bun.

This is topped with a special, smoky BLT sauce seasoned with “paprika, parsley and black pepper.”

“Get ready to experience a sweet and tangy, savory and garlicy sauce that has a lingering smokiness,” they write.

The burgers are only available at participating McDonald’s outlets while supplies last.

This BLT comeback tour comes as McDonald’s strives to meet rampant customer demands for better value, which ramped up after inflation sent their food prices into the stratosphere.

Last month, McDonald’s debuted a special meal deal that allowed customers to score a choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, a small fry, four-piece nugget and a small fountain beverage for just $5.

Unfortunately, the powers that be admitted that inflation-fueled price hikes were inevitable.

In February, the fast food firm’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said inflation would compel the chain to raise prices, and admitted that dining out at McDonald’s was becoming a luxury that fewer people could afford.

“Eating at home has become more affordable,” Kempczinski said. “The battleground is certainly with that low-income consumer.”
