Dave McCormick: Biden cabinet has ‘responsibility to consider’ invoking 25th Amendment

EPHRATA, Pa. — Pennsylvania GOP Senate candidate Dave McCormick doubled down on his call for Joe Biden’s cabinet to consider the 25th Amendment against the embattled president.

“If the guy that showed up in the debate is the guy that’s engaging in questions that affect the lives of our men and women in uniform, then the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Treasury, Secretary of State and others have a responsibility to consider the 25th Amendment,” McCormick told The Post.

The hedge fund executive-turned-Senate candidate spoke to a small group of veterans Friday morning at an American Legion location in Lancaster County — perhaps best known as the home of Pennsylvania’s Amish community.

Much of McCormick’s message focused on the fact that a majority of Pennsylvania voters believe the country is headed in the wrong direction under Biden.

He urged the veterans to vote with their kids and grandkids in mind, warning they could be worse off than their elders if Democrats win this high-stakes election.

“His message rang true with everybody sitting in that room,” said Greg Martin, CFO of the American Legion location that hosted McCormick on Friday.

“All the heads were going up and down.”

Despite his clear stance against the incumbent president, McCormick also positioned himself as an independent-minded Republican who wouldn’t “owe anything” to a future President Trump or other GOP leaders.

His unique policy proposals — such as an IVF tax credit for families and keeping kids off social media — seem to support his maverick reputation.

“I have President Trump’s support, but I don’t owe President Trump my endorsement. I don’t owe Mitch McConnell anything,” McCormick said.

“I am my own person fighting for the future of Pennsylvania… if they vote to put me into office.”

In contrast, McCormick noted that his Democratic opponent Sen. Bob Casey has voted with President Joe Biden’s agenda 98% of the time.

Casey, McCormick said, is a career politician who has accomplished little.

“With all due respect to Senator Casey, he has not shown himself to be a leader,” McCormick said.

“…I challenge you to put your finger on any significant thing he’s done as Senator.”

McCormick was introduced by Pennsylvania state Sen. Ryan Aument, who represents part of Lancaster County in Harrisburg. Aument praised the candidate’s background as a West Point graduate and businessman, concluding McCormick is “the guy” for Pennsylvanians in 2024.

“I was immediately impressed… with the vision, the positive vision he has for this country,” Aument said.

“… I think this is the guy.”
