Joe Biden’s ‘big boy’ press conference shows why the world is ablaze on his watch

President Biden’s “big boy” presser Thursday night proved even more clearly that he’s a little old man sinking ever deeper into senility.

His headline fumble centered on Vice President Kamala Harris

“Look,” blarneyed Biden, “I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president if I think she’s not qualified to be president.”

The moment drew audible shock from the assembled members of the no-longer-totally-sycophantic press in attendance.

Amazingly, Harris wasn’t even the first name-based screwup of the night: At an earlier NATO event, he introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin,” rightly drawing a similar wave of horrified gasps.

But even more disturbing were some of his more extended bits of blather during his presser.

Asked if he would lift the limits on Ukraine’s use of American weapons to strike inside Russia — limits that aid Vladimir Putin immeasurably — he responded:

“If he had the capacity to strike Moscow, strike the Kremlin, would that make sense? It wouldn’t. The question is what is the best use of the weaponry he has? I got him more long-range capacity, as well as defensive capacity. I’m following the advice of my commander-in-chief, the chief of staff of the military as well as the secretary of defense, and my intelligence people, and we’re making a day-to-day basis on how far they should go in. That’s a logical thing to do.”

Wandering, empty nonsense — in response to a literal life-and-death question.

Putin is hitting Kyiv all the time: Why should Moscow be immune?

As for the other major conflict of the moment, Israel’s humane and justified counterattack against Hamas, Biden was more coherent, but what he said was as slimy and morally ugly as can be.

“There’s a lot of things in retrospect I wish I had been able to convince the Israelis to do,” Biden mused — meaning what? To give up the fight and let Hamas win?

This after slandering Israel as being “less than cooperative” on getting aid into Gaza when it’s Hamas interfering with aid shipments.

He also claimed that Hamas’ popularity in the West Bank is falling, when in fact it has 71% approval.

Bottom line: It’s not just that Biden can barely make it through a simple press conference.

It’s that his policy thinking isn’t compos mentis, either: That’s why the world’s ablaze on his watch.
