Ben Affleck buys $20.5M LA home amid J.Lo divorce rumors
Amid several months of swirling divorce rumors, Ben Affleck has shelled out $20.5 million for a Los Angeles mansion — for himself.
The 51-year-old has freshly closed escrow on the property, according to TMZ. Located in LA’s Brentwood area, the residence has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, multiple dining areas, a separate family room, a den, a variety of walk-in closets, a media room and a guest house, the outlet reported.
The very same day Affleck closed, his wife, Jennifer Lopez, finalized the sale of her sprawling Madison Square Park penthouse in Manhattan, The Post previously reported. She had bought that 21 E. 26th St. spread, and listed it for sale, years before Affleck came back into her life. Still, neither transaction bodes well for the lovebird’s relationship, which appears to be on the rocks.
And to pile on further synchronicity, both Affleck’s purchase and Lopez’s sale occurred on July 24, Lopez’s 55th birthday, which she celebrated with a “Bridgerton”-themed party complete with ballroom dancing and superstar performances.
The reportedly soon-to-split spouse’s real estate splurges come shortly after the pair put their Beverly Hills mansion on the market earlier this month. The power couple, who wed in 2022, spent months house-hunting and years of going in and out of escrow on multiple properties before settling on the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom, 38,000-square-foot behemoth.
That residence cost them $60.8 million and is now listed for $68 million.
While their home purchases have been making headlines, little good news has been finding its way to the press about the state of Affleck and Lopez marriage, but numerous sources have been cited saying that it’s “been over for months.”
