Kate Middleton set to join Prince William and their children at Balmoral for summer break

Kate Middleton is gearing up to join the royal family at Balmoral for its annual summer retreat to the country.

With two high-profile public appearances under her belt this year, the Princess of Wales, 42, is set to join her husband Prince William and three children at the lavish Scottish estate later this month.

The Waleses have also spent some weeks at their country home of Anmer Hall, located on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.

As for Balmoral, the family will link up with King Charles and Queen Camilla — where their majesties are spending their entire summer break.

The stunning castle was a known favorite residence of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who kick-started the annual tradition of vacationing there during her reign.

There, the royals enjoy picturesque walks in the Scottish Highlands, as well as family cookouts, horse-riding and boardgames.

Charles was keen to continue his late mother’s tradition, with Prince William’s family joining in on the fun this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of York, as well as Zara and Mike Tindall, also visit the castle in the summer.

A notable absence has been the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their two children, who have not visited the beloved royal residence together.

Princess Catherine’s trip to Balmoral will mark her furthest journey in 2024 since undergoing abdominal surgery in January and subsequently announcing her cancer diagnosis to the world in March.

Following her shock announcement, she stayed away from the public eye to prioritize her treatment process.

Just three months later, the royal wrote in a letter that she was “making good progress” but had “good days and bad days” while going through chemotherapy.

The following day, Middleton joined the royal family for King Charles’ birthday celebrations on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the Trooping the Colour ceremony.

Last month, the mom of three attended the Wimbledon tennis championships, which is reportedly her last public outing for the foreseeable future.

She delighted the crowd as she arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis Club alongside her 9-year daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister Pippa Middleton.

The Waleses are rumored to be venturing to Paris for the Olympic Games to cheer on Great Britain this week, however their attendance had not been confirmed ahead of time.
