Wild video shows arsonist set themself on fire trying to burn down barber shop

It’s a firebug on the barbie.

An arsonist in Australia is wanted after they set themself on fire while trying to burn down a barber shop with an accomplice, authorities said.

The two suspects, seen wearing motorcycle helmets and dark clothing, pulled up on pushbikes to a Gold Blade storefront in Gungahlin just before midnight on July 6, newly released CCTV footage showed.

One of the culprits used a hammer to shatter the glass door, and the second person entered through the broken shards carrying a large red can.

The suspect poured accelerant all over the shop before igniting it — only for a ball of orange flames to leap onto their clothing, the video showed.

The arsonist was almost completely obscured by the fire before they dashed out through the broken door and dove onto the pavement.

They rolled over several times in order to put out the flames before rejoining their accomplice and disappearing into the night.

Over one month after the bizarre incident, police have yet to identify either suspect.

A recent appeal to the public asked those with information to contact the local Crime Stoppers with any possible assistance.

Australian Capital Territory Policing did not immediately return The Post’s request for an update on the investigation.
