Miami Police estimated that Tyreek Hill was going 60 mph – 20 mph over the speed limit – when he was pulled over on Sunday.
The Dolphins wide receiver was cited for careless driving and a seatbelt violation, according to a Miami-Dade Police Department report viewed by The Post.
“High rate of speed visual estimation 60 mph,” the citation read. “No seat belt. High traffic [of] pedestrians and veh[icles].”
Hill was pulled over on his way to Hard Rock Stadium before the Dolphins’ Sunday afternoon game against the Jaguars.
Body cam footage released on Monday showed a chaotic scene that resulted in Hill in handcuffs.
During the traffic stop, Hill was instructed by the officers to get out of the vehicle after rolling up his window during the stop.
One of the cops then opened Hill’s door and pulled him out as he stated he was leaving the car.
Hill was then taken to the ground and detained in what some, including his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, have called an aggressive reaction from the cops involved.
The Miami-Dade Police revealed Tuesday that Danny Torres, a 27-year department veteran, was placed on administrative leave for his role in the incident, per Pelissero.
The Dolphins would go on to win on Sunday, beating the Jaguars 20-17. The included an electric 80-yard touchdown catch by Hill, which was followed by him doing a handcuff celebration.
In an interview with NBC News on Monday, Hill wondered how different the incident could have been if he hadn’t been a superstar NFL player.
“If I wasn’t Tyreek Hill, Lord knows, I probably would have been, like, worst-case scenario, I would have been shot or would have been locked up” and “put behind bars, you know, for a simple speeding ticket,” He said. “And that’s crazy that officers would take it, you know, to that level.”
