We put the best strapless bras to the test: Our review of the top 7

Regardless of your band or cup size, one of the biggest female struggles to ever exist is finding the best strapless bra.

The best strapless bra that’ll stay put, that is.

If you live a busy schedule, it’s easy to put that much-needed bra shopping on the back-burner. I get it — you have one in your dresser drawer that’ll “do the job,” and nobody has the time to sift through brands and say a prayer it won’t slide down or won’t pinch at the center of the bust area.

RELATED: Best push-up bras

As someone with a size 32 band (the smallest) and a D cup (one of the largest, without making it into plus sizes) I’ve gone through dozens of options, only to see the wire irritating my skin or the backside falling to my stomach area at times — until this review.

Because I know the struggle all too well, I decided to do a science level-test of the best strapless bras, the only ones, worth your energy and checkout potential. These options are comfortable, supportive and worth the buy. Say goodbye to ineffective, troublesome and painful options.

Ahead, find the only strapless bras you’ll need. There may not be hundreds to choose from but you don’t need a large list; you only need one that’ll work for you.

Best Overall: Victoria’s Secret Love Cloud Wireless Strapless Bra

Victoria's Secret Love Cloud Wireless Strapless Bra
Victoria's Secret

Pros:

  • Offers the ideal balance of comfort and support
  • Versatile to wear underneath practically anything
  • Fairly priced, considering the impeccable quality

Cons:

  • None to speak of

If you want to feel supported but as if there’s nothing there at the same time, you’ll want to pick up the Victoria’s Secret Love Cloud Wireless Strapless Bra. It’s one of the only options that stays put without sliding, allowing me to wear vacation dresses and tops with ease.

It’s so comfortable, I sometimes forget to take it off before heading to sleep. Victoria’s Secret considers this bra “a whole new level of comfort,” and I have to agree. It’s lightly lined, wireless and doesn’t show through light clothing, like linen dresses. I wear this bra underneath loungewear and even under my waffle robe when I’m getting ready and putting on my makeup. It’s phenomenal.

The bra holds up in the wash well and doesn’t irritate at all. It’s also fairly priced, coming in at less than $50, which, for the quality, is impeccable.

Best Budget: Lusait Non-Slip Bandeau Bra

Lusait Non-Slip Bandeau Bra
Amazon

Pros:

  • Budget-friendly compared to some others, appealing to many shoppers
  • Ultra-soft material
  • Mimics your bust line naturally

Cons:

  • Doesn’t wear well underneath some types of clothing

Save some dollars on undergarments with the Lusait Non-Slip Bandeau Bra, one of my personal favorites. It’s contoured upper mimics your natural bust line and it’s less than $25 on Amazon.

With more than 2,000 applauding reviews on Amazon, it has the feel of a stretchy sports bra. However, it stays put and doesn’t pinch at the center. Though it’s not the best for irregularly cut tops, it’s perfect for most dresses.

The fabric is ultra-soft and a dream to wear. It’s comparable to many others on this list and one I typically reach for, especially when I’m lounging around the house. For the price, add it to your Amazon cart.

Best Splurge: SKIMS Fits Everybody Strapless Bra

SKIMS Fits Everybody Strapless Bra
SKIMS

Pros:

  • Comes in the most generous shade and size variety among all options tested
  • Feels like second skin
  • Offers more support than most

Cons:

  • Price point may be unreachable for some

Kim K, thank you. The SKIMS Fits Everybody Strapless Bra is the perfect splurge for anyone who wants a feel-good bra with a bit more support than most. It’s revolutionary in that it’s offered in a span of shades that resemble actual skin tones, making it an inclusive purchase should it peek through a little.

Aside from its shade range, you’ll find this garment running from 30 to 46, and from an A cup all the way to an H cup. It truly feels like a second skin (picture two cotton rounds with straps). They’re true to size without gapping at the cups, too. As a whole, it’s a worthwhile investment to your drawer.

Best for Large Busts: Aerie SMOOTHEZ Bandeau Bralette

Aerie SMOOTHEZ Bandeau Bralette
Aerie

Pros:

  • Comfortable, wireless design
  • Breathable
  • Stretchy

Cons:

  • May not last as long over time due to its stretch

The second Aerie came out with the SMOOTHEZ Bandeau Bralette, I knew the brand was speaking my language. For one, it glides right on. It doesn’t fall down, either, yet I’d say it’s best for those with larger busts because of how it performs well over time.

This bra has a somewhat sticky, thin lining that won’t irritate the skin but has some give when worn month after month. Because it’s very stretchy, it offers the comfort you crave. It’ll be breathable for large and small busts but, holistically, is best for larger busts. If anything, larger cup sizes.

Best for Small Busts: Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Push-Up Strapless Bra

Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Push-Up Strapless Bra
Victoria's Secret

Pros:

  • Offers flattering support
  • Comes in a variety of shades
  • Feels like a bandeau and doesn’t pinch since it’s wireless

Cons:

  • Sellout risk

For those who are on the “itty bitty titty committee” side of TikTok, the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Push-Up Strapless Bra is specially geared for you. I’ve been wearing the brand’s push-up bra options for years now and none other compares. This includes its strapless bra.

With a fair amount of colors to choose from, it can be worn five different ways. However, I’m more simple and wear it only in the traditional way without straps. I love how the center mimics a bandeau so it doesn’t pinch the center of your bust. Not to mention, it’s a push-up option that doesn’t lead to cup gaps.

Best Wireless: Lively No-Wire Strapless Bra

Lively No-Wire Strapless Bra
Lively

Pros:

  • Buttery soft material
  • Features a no-slip silicone grip
  • Budget-friendly compared to some others, appealing to many shoppers

Cons:

  • Limited shade variety

Want wire-free? The Lively No-Wire Strapless Bra is both budget-friendly and buttery soft. It features lightly padded cups that feels like I’m wearing a standard bandeau. It’s kind of like the best of both worlds: loungewear-style comfort, traditional bra-like support.

It even features a no-slip silicone grip that, much to my delight, works. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times a bra has this feature but continues to drop down. If you’ve been searching for an option that won’t break the bank, stays put and is wireless, this is one of the best choices for you.

Best Sticky: NuBra Seamless Bra Cups

NuBra Seamless Bra Cups
Revolve

Pros:

  • Ideal for irregularly cut tops and dresses
  • Lightweight
  • Doesn’t irritate the skin, even though it sticks

Cons:

  • Not readily available to order online

The NuBra Seamless Bra Cups is a strapless bra that doesn’t go all the way around because it’s a quality sticky bra. It’s made perfect for irregularly cut tops and dresses, too. Regardless of which traditional strapless bra piques your interest from this list, you should invest in this one as well.

The brand boasts a true-to-size fit that has lasted me for about four years. It’s lightweight, doesn’t irritate and doesn’t move around all day. In essence, it’s the ideal sticky bra option and receives my full seal of approval.

How we tested

While testing strapless bras for more than four years, here is the testing criteria I kept in mind for each garment:

  • Fit and size: The best strapless bra should fit accurately around the ribcage without pinching or restricting your upper body. Because it’s strapless, the band should be the base of the support.
  • Non-slip silicone: Depending on the style, this is a good feature to look for to ensure it fits snugly all day. However, the quality of this feature is important; sometimes, it’s ineffective for cheaply made bras.
  • Support: Whether you go with underwire or wireless, make sure the design of the bra at large is serving your band and cup size.
  • Material: For a wireless bra, you’ll want to ensure the material is lightweight, doesn’t bunch under clothing and is of good quality.
