Director of Analytics

Over the past 223 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.

We are currently seeking a Director of Analytics to join our Data Science & Analytics team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the analytics workstreams, guiding the strategy and execution of data-driven decision-making processes.

  • Direct teams focused on delivering analytics and insights that drive the editorial and commercial success of The New York Post.

  • Champion the development and integration of advanced analytics models to enhance media performance and audience engagement.

  • Lead the analysis of campaign performance across various platforms to optimize strategies and increase viewer engagement.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to integrate and leverage data from marketing clean rooms.

  • Partner with senior management to refine media strategies based on data insights.

  • Provide comprehensive analytics support to both the editorial and business units, influencing decision-making across the organization.

  • Develop and maintain automated reporting systems and dashboards to ensure stakeholders have timely and accurate access to key metrics and insights.

  • Assist in developing best practices for sports analytics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics/Statistics, Engineering or a related field preferred

  • 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in the media, entertainment, or sports industry

  • Extensive experience with BI Tools such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau

  • Proven track record of driving projects to success in the field of Digital  media, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and or Marketing analytics with a focus on Sports and digital media industries

  • Proficiency in languages such as SQL, Python,  and manipulation tools for handling large data sets

  • Strong familiarity with Cloud data architectures such as Lake house, Data Marts, Data Warehousing, Multi-Cloud, Real-time streaming.

  • Expertise in Media measurement methods and technologies, including experimental techniques and Media Mix Modeling (MMM)

  • Strong capability in campaign management, data extraction, and media optimization

  • Ability to apply advanced data science/research techniques and tools

  • Expertise in translating complex data tasks into actionable business solutions

  • Advanced understanding of media metrics and mathematical applications in analytics

  • Proficient in analyzing large data sets to discern patterns and derive key insights

Note: The New York Post adheres to a hybrid work model.

Base Salary Range:  $140,000 – $150,000

Accordingly, offers extended for this role will include an annual bonus target typically expressed as percentage of salary.  Similarly to salary, set annual incentive bonus targets are based on a variety of factors including competitive market practice, experience, tenure, and essential skills.
