Over the past 223 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television, and commerce.

Decider.com, a New York Post Digital Network property, is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Features Creator to join their team!

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic fan of TV and film (with an expertise in streaming services), with strong reporting and writing skills, as well as a desire to appear on camera. The candidate must be comfortable working in a deadline-oriented environment.

Though pop culture news happens round the clock, this position will primarily be focused on covering news from the hours of 9am through 5pm (exact hours to be discussed). This person will ideally be located in either New York City or Los Angeles in order to maximize in-person press opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate traction and coverage of the streaming landscape by utilizing a multiplatform storytelling approach; this can run the gamut from quick write-ups, lengthy features built on interviews or other reported material, or short-form social videos that approach the streaming landscape in a fun or unique way
  • Devise innovative and expedient ways to cover TV shows, movies and entertainment trends
  • Gather reputable news sources and develop relationships, discover and chase down leads
  • Stay up to date on all things streaming and pop culture

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on, deadline-driven online editorial experience, preferably for an entertainment publication
  • A strong knowledge of TV & film landscape — specifically, though not limited to, streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Disney+, Max, etc. — and a passion for pop culture coverage
  • Creative, flexible, and a team player
  • Excellent time-management and the ability to juggle multiple assignments at once
  • A strong desire to create short-form social videos (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)
  • Comfortable appearing on camera
  • Experience using WordPress or a comparable CMS a plus
  • Open and willing to attend events outside of regular work hours when needed

Note: NYC based candidates will be required to adhere to the hybrid work model.

Please submit a cover letter, resume and three writing and/or video samples that best represent your abilities.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $75,000
