Photo Editor, Part-Time (Sun-Wed, 10am-5pm)

The New York Post is currently seeking an experienced part-time Photo Editor (Sun- Wed, 10am-5pm EST) to work within our photo team.

The ideal candidate has a passion for breaking news, showbiz, politics, sports, visual storytelling, and has a vast knowledge of current events.

Note: This is NOT a photography based role. This is a desk-based photo editing position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reacting to live breaking news
  • Researching live news, sports & political events
  • Photo editing
  • Completing photo requests for the editorial team
  • Creating visually appealing composites for the homepage
  • Pitching photos for stories
  • Negotiating rates with agencies and freelance photographers

The ideal candidate has/will:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience with a multi-platform media digital/print brand
  • Excellent news judgment with knowledge of entertainment, news and sports
  • Possess a keen eye for engaging content and understanding the global photo marketplace
  • Proven research skills, including newsgathering and social media tools
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure

Salary Range: $20/hr – $40/hr
