A group of employees from ANZCO Foods Corporate Office headed up the Port Hills in Christchurch recently to help the Summit Road Society replant an area of native bush affected by the Port Hills fires. Ben, Carly, Keighlee, Suzanne, Ryan, and Nick (from left to right in the photo) helped to plant 600 native seedlings – despite a muddy trek in and freezing cold wind up on the hills! They said it was great to get out, connect with colleagues and other volunteers, and make a difference to biodiversity in the area.

Situated in the heart of London, with more than 100 years of history, Westminster Kingsway College (Westkings) has the UK’s leading school of hospitality and culinary arts. We're supporting Westkings by providing students with ANZCO Foods' beef and lamb to create dishes and practice their culinary skills. A few hundred kilos of meat are supplied annually, including ANZCO Foods' premium beef and lamb. Being a sponsor gives ANZCO Foods exposure and helps raise awareness of our brands and products among the students and existing food service trade. We look forward to following Westkings students on their culinary journey and working with them to share our message of nutrition and good health with New Zealand’s finest beef and lamb.

Growing Future Farmers (GFF) is an intensive, two-year, highly practical on-farm scholarship programme for youth aged between 16 and 20. Students are supported by industry experts and GFF liaison managers in 14 regions across New Zealand. Tyla Shanks, former city girl, is now working on Bluff Station in Marlborough as part of the programme. She’s learned a lot in a short time: about mustering, high country farming, working with cattle, body condition scoring, pregnancy scanning cows, weaning calves and lambs, and training her own heading pup, which she says has been the highlight. Learn more about Tyla and GFF in the latest issue of the Advantage magazine: https://lnkd.in/gP8HxzHJ

Zoe from Echelon Advisers visited the Corporate Office in May and hosted a talk on managing money as part of our Lunch and Learn series. She walked us through preparing for emergencies, creating visibility around spending, debt reduction, and planning for retirement. We had fantastic feedback from the attendees, so many thanks to Zoe for taking the time to join us. The session was recorded and shared on our intranet so those from our sites around New Zealand can benefit from the talk as well.

Each year, chefs from restaurants that use beef from ANZCO Foods brand Greenstone Creek are brought together for a special event. This year, the chefs visited a supplier farm, and ANZCO Foods Eltham where they met the Master Graders who select the finest quality beef for Greenstone Creek. Tauranga’s Fife Lane was announced the 2024 Supreme Winner for the way it embodies the Greenstone Creek values - congratulations to the team!

Recently ANZCO Foods UK attended the 2nd Year Professional Chefs Development Competition at Westminster Kingsway College. The ANZCO Foods team was presented with the top eight brasserie-style dishes and were blown away by the calibre of cooking. They awarded Evie Holloway first place for her sous vide ANZCO Foods lamb rack, infused with butter, garlic, and rosemary. ANZCO Foods is proud to partner with Westminster Kingsway College to develop the next generation of hospitality professionals.
