As part of Ballance’s commitment to the future of agriculture, we hosted a Young Enterprise NZ innovation challenge in Tauranga last week - 60 year 10 students from six different schools tackled one of three challenges. The challenges were designed to address real-life agricultural issues: 🚰 Clean water challenge: Finding ways to reduce nitrate leaching from urine or fertilisers into waterways. 🌍 Environmental footprint challenge: creating solutions to decrease the environmental footprint of NZ farmers and growers, specifically addressing greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining efficiency and productivity. 🌱 Fertiliser application challenge: developing solutions to apply fertilisers/nutrients efficiently, ensuring productivity with minimal environmental impact. It was great to see the enthusiasm and creativity these students brought to the table. They came up with great solutions to address these critical challenges in the agriculture industry. #FutureReadyFarms #AgricultureInnovation #Ballance
