It was a beautiful day in Te Puke today for the opening of 13 new, fully accessible, one-bedroom Accessible Properties units. The purpose-designed units have widened halls and doorways, level access entry and showers, and lever door handles that are at the same height as the light switches. Outside, the paths have a low gradient and are wide enough for wheelchairs. All these features will make life much easier for tenants. We are absolutely committed to building and modifying homes to meet the needs of people with a physical or intellectual disability or mobility issues and in the last six years we have added 46 new accessible homes to our Tauranga and Te Puke portfolios. Pictured is Nigel Smith, GM of Development, and Tania Wilson, GM of Tenancy, from Accessible Properties. These aerial views show a glimpse into this great new complex of accessible units. https://lnkd.in/gRV_wxnA

We celebrated our final National Volunteer Week event in Christchurch with a great turnout and a wonderful time to chat and connect. Our guest, Christchurch Mayor Phil Mauger, gave a special speech to thank our IHC volunteers for their incredible work. After his heartfelt words, we all enjoyed a delicious Thai meal and great conversations. Thank you to all our volunteers! ❤️ #NVW2024 #NationalVolunteerWeek #ihcNZ #VolunteersNZ

National Volunteer Week celebrations continue in Dunedin 🌙 We had a fantastic gathering in Dunedin with our volunteers, sharing delicious kai and celebrating our team's win in the Volunteer South’s Dunedin Celebration Stories for National Volunteer Week. A highlight was a cake featuring all our volunteers' names and a thank you message, making the event extra special. We then visited the Beverley Begg Observatory to stargaze on a beautiful clear night, perfectly aligning with this week's Matariki celebrations. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers! #NationalVolunteerWeek #NVW2024 #VolunteerSouth #Matariki2024
