One of our most popular articles in the last 12 months is "Too much on your plate?" 🤹♂️ Unsurprisingly, our keynote on 'Saying No" flies off the shelf... 💡 Women spend 44% more time on tasks that don't lead to promotions—like taking notes, organising meetings, and helping colleagues. 💡 Women are 47% more likely to volunteer for these non-promotable tasks, and managers are 48% more likely to assign them to women. 💡 42% of women report feeling burned out. The burden of unpaid and unrecognised labour is real and it's holding women back. Slower career progression, missed promotions, and a widening pay gap. Women of colour face an even steeper uphill battle, taking on more work but getting fewer opportunities for advancement. But somehow, we've trained ourselves to think 'feedback' = 'bad news' (or managers don't know about this magic ratio!). Research proves that positive feedback is key in the workplace. The magic ratio? 5.6 pieces of positive feedback for every negative one, and make for the best teams. Positive interactions directly correlate with a high-performance team, culture, and environment.
