Sometimes it's easy to forget just what kind of an impact charity can make. Today, we were reminded... Sharing, with permission, this heartwarming update from the SPCA New Zealand about how our Christmas donations have helped them to take better care of the vulnerable animals in their charge. 😻 🐶 🐇 🐷 👇 "I'm thrilled to share a rather emotional update on the transformative gift we received and the incredible impact it's had on our animal centres and the dedicated people caring for them. The Simplicity Foundation's generosity has changed lives, and I want to tell you exactly how.   Project 1 – Auckland Centre Your gift allowed us to install air conditioning in the cat runs, rabbit areas, and the vet consult room. This has significantly improved the living conditions for the animals and the working environment for our 225 volunteers and staff. Rabbits, in particular, are extremely sensitive to temperature fluctuations, and our vets were struggling in the extreme heat while caring for the animals. Now, both the animals and our dedicated team can thrive in a much more comfortable and safe environment.   Project 2 – Kerikeri Centre Water Tanks With the increasing number of animals arriving from across Northland and the challenges of securing water during the summer, we decided to utilise the gift to install an additional water tank. This has made our centre more sustainable and resilient under tough conditions, ensuring that we never run out of water for our animals. It's a vital step in safeguarding their well-being and our operational stability.   Project 3 – Gisborne Dog Yard Renovations Gisborne suffered immensely during Cyclone Gabrielle, and our centre was no exception. The dog exercise area was flooded, making it unusable. This has been a recurring issue over the last decade due to changing weather patterns. With your generous gift, we were able to secure additional funding and complete a major upgrade to the dog yards. The yards were concreted, refenced where need, sun protection installed and gates replaced as needed. The transformation is stunning—these areas are now fit for purpose and will serve our dogs for many years to come. The before and after pictures and video showcase this dramatic improvement.   Your support has not only improved the lives of the animals in our care but has also uplifted the spirits of our team, who work tirelessly to ensure their well-being. Simplicity Living is underway with its fourth BTR project. Called Reiputa, it is located at 80 Mt Wellington Hwy and will see 297 new homes completed within the next two years. Four other projects are in design and consenting phases bringing the total to 1,280 new homes completed or in production. We have set up a Productivity Hub at the Reiputa project site to serve two primary purposes. Firstly, to provide a facility for our team and project partners to continue the pursuit of productivity gains through innovation. And secondly, to provide a venue for visitors to view our system live in action. We will freely share all design, construction and financial information. Sharing IP isn't commonplace for our sector.
